PM John Key at the Conqueror international opening

Conqueror International Ltd, manufacturers of garage doors and panel products, are stamping their mark on the Canterbury building industry with the opening of a massive new plant in West Coast Road. The Prime Minister officially opened the new facility on 19 October and the production line is now in full swing.

Conqueror International’s CEO Trevor Bills said the new 7,500 metres squared state-of-the-art manufacturing plant will allow the company to produce a diverse range of panel products from a single production line, making it one of the most adaptable plants of its kind in the world.

“With this facility we are capable of producing 14 metres of insulted panel per minute, and have the capacity to produce New Zealand’s entire annual garage door requirement in just 3.5 weeks. The new facility also has the unique ability to manufacture panels in lengths of up to 24m, which allows for more flexibility in building design,” Mr Bills said.
“We are going to be producing products on a scale never before seen in this part of the world. This will help to ensure short lead times, consistent supply of quality product and guaranteed pricing. At a time when Christchurch is being virtually rebuilt from scratch, this incredible facility will change the common current building mindset.”

Plans for the impressive new facility were hatched after a number of Conqueror International’s Bromley based buildings were damaged in the earthquakes. It has been custom built to accommodate their extensive range of products and was built using the same insulated panel methodology that it will produce, allowing it to be built in minimal time compared to other traditional methods.

Conqueror doors are made with 100 percent Polyurethane internal insulation and double skin steel construction, giving them outstanding thermal and acoustic values and making them virtually impact resistant.

“We want to see Canterbury rebuilt with the best products available and we genuinely believe these are the best garage doors available in the Australasian market,” Mr Bills said.
“We are making a significant investment in Canterbury manufacturing and in the Canterbury rebuild with this new plant. This new superfactory, just like our Canterbury rugby sponsorship, shows our firm and proud commitment to this region,” Mr Bills said.
